ELA Accelerated Academy
Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School is dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to develop and enhance their learning in all subjects. This February vacation week, Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech will be hosting the ELA Acceleration Academy. The goal of the Academy is to provide students with the opportunity to accelerate their skills and knowledge in the area of ELA.
The Academy will run starting on Tuesday, February 20th through Friday, February 23rd from 8:00-12:00.
Transportation, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Students can choose two different sessions to enroll in. 10th grade students can enroll in the ELA skills course which will provide them with a guided curriculum to help prepare them for success in ELA skills.
Please note that in order to graduate and earn a high school diploma, all students in Massachusetts public schools must successfully pass the Grade 10 MCAS tests, therefore this Academy will benefit 10th graders.
The second course students have the opportunity to enroll in is the Advanced Coursework section. This course will provide students enrolled in grades 9-12 the opportunity to work with advanced materials and skills that will allow them to challenge themselves.
In addition to these two courses, all students will have a section of gym and a section of our Project Based Learning course, where students will work with ELA strategies and skills to produce a project highlighting their learning in a fun, engaging and hands-on way.
Registration is open until Friday, February 2nd so that transportation, food and facilities can be arranged. Please use the registration link below to register.
