Dear GNBVT School Community,
As we welcome the arrival of spring, we also anticipate some lingering wet and chilly days ahead in true New England fashion. However, despite the weather’s unpredictability, there’s much excitement in store for our school community.
Tonight at 6:30 PM in our auditorium, we’ll be rallying together to cheer on our remarkable contestants for Mr. Voc-Tech. It’s a night filled with anticipation and celebration as we witness the crowning of this year’s winner. Let’s extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ava Silva, who triumphantly secured the title of Ms. Voc-Tech.
None of these events would be possible without the tireless efforts of the After Prom committee, under the exceptional leadership of Ms. Jenn Gaspar, our esteemed Media Technology Teacher. Ms. Gaspar continues to go above and beyond to provide enriching experiences for our students. In addition to orchestrating the Mr. Voc-Tech event, she’s also bringing laughter and joy to our community with a Comedy Show scheduled for April 12th (details in newsletter). All proceeds from this event will contribute to the success of our After Prom festivities.
In recognition of her dedication and commitment, I am thrilled to announce that Ms. Jenn Gaspar has been appointed as a Board of Director of the Massachusetts Business Professionals of America (BPA). This prestigious honor is a testament to her hard work and exemplary leadership, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.
To our 10th-grade parents/caregivers, please take note that your child will be taking the MCAS test next Tuesday and Wednesday. I urge you to encourage your child to prioritize good sleep and a nutritious breakfast on those days. Remember, we also serve a hot breakfast at school to ensure all our students are fueled for success. I’ve provided a comprehensive presentation to all 10th graders today, preparing them for what to expect during the test.
As we head into the weekend, let’s carry with us the spirit of anticipation and pride for all that our school community has accomplished and will continue to achieve.
With appreciation,
Principal Williams

For those entering 11th grade in the fall, we do need a copy of your updated immunization record. Proof of meningococcal immunization is required for the start of the school year if you are 16 years old. For those turning 16 years old during the school year, please bring immunization records once updated. In the upcoming weeks, a letter will be mailed out to your parent/guardian to share the status of your current paperwork on file.
Here is a link to the CDC Vaccine Information Statement for the meningococcal vaccine:

As we honor Women’s History Month we can look to the contributions of Florence Nightingale, who is said to be the founder of modern nursing. She is well known for her work during the Crimean War (1853-1856) where she managed and trained nurses to care for the sick and wounded. She helped decrease deaths with improving hygiene and living standards.
During her work in the war she was known as “The Lady with the Lamp” as she would often check on and tend to the sick at night when everyone else was asleep. In 1860 she went on to lay the foundation for nursing as a profession with opening up her own school of nursing at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. Miss Nightingale’s work and many contributions of improving healthcare in communities, along with the promotion of the noble profession of nursing, are things for which we can all be grateful.
